A NEW mentoring programme for young musicians is now open for applications.
Lyme Regis music charity B Sharp is launching the MusicFutures programme, a new one year scheme for young people who are interested in a career in the music industry.
The MusicFutures programme is aimed at young people aged 15 and above who are thinking about a career in music and would like to find out more about how to take the first steps, or would like some support in starting out.
Young people will take part in 10 monthly sessions, starting from January 2021 at Bridport Arts Centre. They will also be mentored by local professional musicians – including Rob McVey, Lucy Broddle and Rob Lee - who want to support the next generation of Dorset musicians.
Ruth Cohen, B Sharp’s artistic director said: “We are inviting young people who are thinking about a career in music to apply to the programme by 30th November. As well as learning about the music industry, and receiving support and mentoring, the young people will get to meet and play music with, the other talented musicians on the programme”
The application form can be found at www.bsharp.org.uk/music-futures/
