Christmas has arrived in Salisbury.

After a year like no other, with incredible hardships for us all, the shining festive lights will be a comforting sight.

Of course we didn't get a lights switch on event as we normally would. To relive past events, and remember the celebrities who have come to Salisbury for Christmas, check out our guide to Christmas past in the city.

But there's plenty to enjoy in the present and it's easy to do it in a safe, socially distanced way with your family.

Twelve large Christmas trees have been put up around the streets in the city centre.

The pictures at the top of this article, by photographer Spencer Mulholland, offer just a taster of the full trail.

The trail launched on Saturday (November 21) and runs until Monday, January 4.

The themed trees have been dotted around the city centre - starting at Salisbury Cathedral and finishing at the Market Place.
