A SECTION of a busy commuter route in the conurbation is set to have its speed limit reduced for five months.
BCP Council is dropping the 40mph limit along a stretch of Wallisdown Road to 30mph.
This temporary measure is being implemented from the Mountbatten Roundabout to the junction with Benbow Crescent.
A spokesperson for the local authority said: "The proposed temporary speed restriction is required in order to reduce vehicle speeds to create a safer working environment due to reduced carriageway width on Wallisdown Road whilst works are undertaken as part of the Wallisdown Road Highway Improvements."
The speed limit reduction is set to be enforced from Monday, November 30, until Friday, April 30, 2021.
