We have seen what happened when we lifted the restrictions after the first lock down. Covid cases once again spiked into a second wave which we are in the middle of. No one likes to be a killjoy but if we have to keep Christmas restrictions for the greater good then so be it. Hopefully soon we will have vaccines available to combat Covid 19, not soon enough for this year but is it worth risking more infections this Christmas if people are being put in danger. There has even been a suggestion we could have Christmas in June next year I am sure Jesus would not mind if was safer to do it then.
When this year come to an end, we will certainly know how Scrooge felt after the visit from the three ghost's that happiness and life are not guaranteed and we will keep Christmas well, because we will know what it was like to live through a period when we had to curtail Christmas festivities because of a global pandemic.
