A CIRCLE of light lit up an Abbotsbury landmark, raising more than £400 in the process and including a show of support for healthcare workers.
The annual Candles on the Hill event on St Catherine's Hill went ahead on Sunday.
The lights made a circle representing a Catherine Wheel to mark St Catherine's Day and as an addition for 2020, also included the letters 'NHS' as a special tribute to those healthcare workers and those who have been affected by Covid-19. There was also a trail of lights leading up to St Catherine's Chapel on the top of the hill.
The circle of light was created by utilising candle bags with a battery operated tea light inserted to bring the spectacle to life. Many of the bags contained written messages from those participating in the event to loved ones who have been lost.
The event raised £409 for Friends Of St Nicholas' Church Abbotsbury.
