A mum-of-two from Salisbury has set up a ‘Reverse Advent calendar’ in aid of homelessness charity Encircles.
Jade Oliver, 29, is asking families to collect one item per day in December to donate to the charity, which will then distribute them to vulnerable families.
Rather than receiving a small present every day until Christmas, a reverse Advent calendar is all about giving and setting items aside each day so they can all be collected in a box and donated to the charity a few days before Christmas.
“It’s an idea I found online, I spoke to Encircles about it and they were happy for me to do it. We just wanted to do something to give back so that’s how it’s started,” she said.
On December 23, boxes will be collected and delivered to the charity so they can hand them out to those in need.
