THE A338 slip road car park in Fordingbridge could be used as a new Covid testing site.
A meeting of Fordingbridge Town Council on Wednesday (December 2), which was held online via Zoom, heard that Hampshire's Resilience Form had been asked to look at new testing sites.
Councillor Heron, who is a councillor on New Forest District and Hampshire County councils, said the testing site at the car park was "likely" but had "not been confirmed".
He told the meeting: "The local resilience forum have been asked by the government to look at new Covid testing sites and the district council, obviously, is obliged to discuss with them what assets they may have available. It is now likely, but not confirmed, that the A338 slip road car park will be used for a local testing site."
"This will only be, and let me be clear here, a few days a month, and it is aimed for local people to be able to access testing nearby" he added.
The meeting heard it would be in operation six days a month. Cllr Heron said it would be "very low key".
