A SALISBURY man completed a 100km non-stop ultra marathon to support a four-year-old boy with a rare genetic condition.
Daniel Pearson, who admits that he is “not a big fan of running”, completed the Jurassic Coast course from Poole to Bridport on June 8, 2019 in aid of the Love for Louis campaign.
Lucy Dunn, of Fovant, launched Love for Louis to raise funds for her son Louis, who has Congenital Disorder of Glycosylation, to have specialist therapies to help with his development.
More than £40,000 has already been raised which has gone towards a range of sessions including hydra, music and physio therapy, which has already helped Louis to walk with the help of a walker.
Daniel was able to complete the ultra marathon in 16 hours 29 minutes, a new personal best. Previously, he says he has taken part in these type of ultra marathons but had not been able to complete the whole course until now.
The 36-year-old said: “To raise the profile of Love for Louis is a great thing to do.
“We raised just under £2,000, which is great,” added Daniel. “If I can help him walk, talk and thrive even more and support that family, I’m delighted to help.” To donate go to justgiving.com/fundraising/daniel-pearson17
