Drivers in Salisbury were warned to avoid the A360 because of a fallen tree.
Salisbury Police posted the traffic warning on its Facebook page just after 6am on Sunday morning (December 27).
The road closure follows heavy winds, brought to the area by Storm Bella throughout the weekend.
Yellow weather warnings, which were in place on Saturday and for Sunday, now appear to have been lifted by the Met Office.
But wild weather clearly caused problems in parts of the area.
Salisbury Police said on Facebook: “Please avoid the A360 between St Peters Place and the roundabout junction with The Avenue.
“The road is currently closed due to a very large tree blocking both lanes.
“Highways England have been contacted and will be at scene soon to clear the road.
“The best alternative route is via The Avenue and the A36.”
