THREE more people that had tested positive for Covid-19 have died at Salisbury District Hospital.
This means 84 patients that had tested positive for the virus have now passed away at the hospital since the beginning of the pandemic.
Confirmed by Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust today, January 3, the patients include two men in their 60s and 70s and a woman in her 80s. Two of the patients had underlying health conditions.
A spokesperson for the trust said: "Our thoughts and condolences are with all the families and loved ones at this very difficult and distressing time.
"We currently have 66 in-patients who have tested positive for Covid-19 being cared for at the hospital."
The number of positive patients onsite is currently the highest it has ever been.
According to government data, as of 3pm today, January 3, 8,314 people had tested positive for Covid-19 in Wiltshire, excluding the Swindon Borough Council area, since the start of the pandemic.
