THERE was fire involving the engine compartment of a JCB this afternoon (Friday, January 8).
Two fire crews from Shaftesbury and a water carrier from Yeovil attended the incident on the A350 at Semley Common.
The fire was reported to Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service at around 12.50pm. It was extinguished by firefighters using a hose reel jet.
A spokesperson for the fire service said: "Two fire crews from Shaftesbury and a water carrier from Yeovil attended a fire involving the engine compartment of a JCB on the A350 at Semley Common this afternoon.
"It was quickly extinguished using one hose reel jet, before being recovered by the farmer."
