Five more patients at Salisbury District Hospital have died after testing positive for coronavirus.

It brings the hospital's death toll since the start of the pandemic to 98.

A spokesperson from Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust said: "Sadly, we can confirm that a further five patients who had been cared for at Salisbury District Hospital have died.  

"The total number of patients that have died at Salisbury District Hospital after receiving a COVID-19 positive test result is now 98.  

"One patient, a man in his sixties, died on January 9.

"Two patients, a woman in her sixties and a man in his seventies, died on January 10.

"Two patients, a woman in her eighties and a man in his sixties died on January 11.

"All had underlying health conditions.

"Our thoughts and condolences are with the patients’ families and loved ones at this very difficult and distressing time."
