THE rollout of the Covid-19 vaccination is continuing in Fordingbridge.

More of the over 80s patients will be receiving their first dose of the vaccination this week.

A statement on the Fordingbridge Surgery Facebook page on Monday said: “Please note there will be more Covid vaccination appointments taking place at Fordingbridge Hospital this week. These appointments are booked for Avon Valley PCN’s [Primary Care Network] over 80s cohort and are first vaccinations.

“Anyone that was expecting a second vaccination this week has been sent a letter informing them that the second vaccination will now be given in March and not this week as originally planned. The extended gap between doses will allow the NHS to vaccinate more patients in the next three months and will not jeopardise these patients in any way.”

The vaccination rollout at the Fordingbridge Hospital site started during the week of December 21.

On Saturday, flu vaccinations were held at the surgery’s marquee - 457 flu vaccinations were given to patients aged 50 to 64.
