Students from Bishop Wordsworth’s School have been praised for their efforts making sure the Wilton vaccination site runs as smoothly as possible.

Alongside volunteers from Wilton HELP and Wilton’s Rotary Club, pupils from the Exeter Street site have been welcoming patients at the Michael Herbert Hall, manning the reception desks, entering data onto national web platforms and assisting elderly patients through to the waiting areas.

The site opened as a vaccination centre for priority groups earlier this month.

Hilary Jenkins, Operations Manager at Sarum West Primary Care Network praised the students' efforts.

She said: “It has been a delight to have [Bishop Wordsworth’s students] and many of the patients have said the same, complimenting them on their kindness.

“They have been an enormous asset to the clinics and their cheerful demeanour and hard work is a credit to their teachers and the school.”

The students who have been helping out wish to study medicine and have already done some volunteering.
