Letters of appreciation have poured in this week from patients in the priority groups who recently received the Covid jab.

As vaccinations in Salisbury, Wilton, Tidworth and Larkhill are now underway, those who have received the first dose of the vaccine in the past few days and weeks have written to the Journal to thank the staff and volunteers involved in the rollout.

Below are a few letters sent to our inbox this week which we would like to share:

"We wish to record our thanks to the doctors, nurses and volunteers, and to the Cathedral staff, for the impressive vaccine roll-out on Saturday.

"We thought the organisation was excellent, in a serene and beautiful place, with the added pleasure of delightful organ playing!"

J.A & J.E Baker (both 91)

"Last week I had my appointment for my Covid vaccination at the Michael Herbert Hall in Wilton and I would like to congratulate all those involved both the medical staff and the many volunteers at the quick and efficient way it was organised.

"Car park attendants, two nice Bishops boys to check your details and take your temperature, volunteers to steer you to your seat before the vaccination and more volunteers to sanitize the chairs vacated.

"Including the obligatory fifteen minute wait afterwards in case of any reaction, I was in and out again in less than half an hour.  At this rate, we will all have been seen to in record time."

Shirley Cooke, Bishopstone

"On Friday 15th January I had the Covid vaccine at Tidworth and I like to say a very big thank you to everyone there. It was so well organised and everyone there was so kind."

Marion Carder

"On Saturday my wife and I attended the Larkhill Medical centre for our vaccination and we would like to say a big thankyou to all the people concerned for making it so easy for us, it was so well organised. Thanks again."

Ron and Marion Mayes

"Huge thanks to all concerned in establishing the arrangements at the Cathedral to administer vaccination jabs.

"Everyone involved was polite/courteous and efficient, the flow through the various stages from arrival to discharge were well-managed - all a model of organisation at its best."

Alan Finch, Landford

"Just wanted to say a great thank you to everyone one working at Salisbury Cathedral today doing the Covid-19 vacations. A team we should all be proud of."
