THE rollout of vaccinations in Fordingbridge is taking place "very rapidly".

More patients from the Avon Valley Primary Care Network, which is made up of Fordingbridge Surgery, Ringwood Medical Centre, Cornerways Medical Centre in Ringwood and Twin Oaks Surgery in Bransgore, will be vaccinated today and tomorrow.

The surgeries, who are administering the vaccines at the Fordingbridge Hospital site, will be vaccinating the 75 to 79 age group.

A message to patients posted on behalf of Avon Valley Primary Care Network said that some patients may have received an invite to have their Covid vaccinations in Bournemouth or at pharmacies out of the area but that they can still have the vaccination in Fordingbridge if they wished.

It advised those that wanted to have their vaccinations in Fordingbridge should wait to be contacted by their surgery directly.

The post to patients on the Fordingbridge Surgery Facebook page yesterday (January 20), said: "You may have received an invitation to have your Covid vaccination in Bournemouth or at Pharmacies that aren't very local. You can still have your Covid vaccination in Fordingbridge, just wait for your surgery to contact you directly.

"Avon Valley PCN is vaccinating their patients very rapidly. There will be more vaccinations being administered to the 75 - 79 age group at the Fordingbridge Hospital site tomorrow and Friday for those in that cohort with booked appointments."

The vaccination rollout at the Fordingbridge Hospital site started during the week of December 21.
