A LONDON resident was issued with Covid-19 fine for visiting their second home in the New Forest.

A post on the New Forest Cops Facebook page yesterday (Sunday) said: "The New Forest Heart Beat Team has issued another Covid-19 fine to a London resident for visiting their second home in the Forest. The message is clear please STAY AT HOME. Thank you."

This came after three men were fined for breaking the latest lockdown rules after being stopped in their car having driven to the New Forest from the Isle of Wight to look at a second hand car.

Another post on the police Facebook page on Thursday (January 21) said: "PC Steven Norris has today fined 3 men for breaking the latest lockdown laws. They were stopped in their car having driven to the New Forest from the Isle Of Wight via Dorset. The purpose of their trip, to look at a second hand car.

"Stay at home unless your journey is essential and for the latest on what is and isn’t allowed during this lockdown go www.gov.uk/COVID-19."
