POLICE and the fire service were called to a crash involving a car and an electricity pole.

Reported yesterday, January 27, a spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “We received a report at 6.56am of a single vehicle collision on the A350 near to Melbury Abbas. It was reported that a car had collided with an electricity pole.

“Officers attended along with the fire service, which assisted with making the scene safe. There were no reports of any injuries.

“Recovery for the vehicle is being arranged and the electricity company has been notified.”

A spokesperson for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service added: “One pump from Shaftesbury was mobilised to a report of a road traffic collision on Cann Hill, Melbury Abbas.

“On arrival the crew found there had been a collision involving a single vehicle and a wooden pole.

“Police were also in attendance, thankfully the occupant of the vehicle was uninjured. The crew made the scene safe and the incident was handed over to the police.”
