DAMAGE was caused to a shop entrance during an unsuccessful attempt of accessing a cash machine in the early hours.
At around 2.45am today, January 28, Dorset Police received a report of a break-in at the Central convenience store at Ivy Cross, Shaftesbury.
Damage was caused to the front doors and an attempt was made to access a cash machine inside.
Officers are now appealing for witnesses and further information, and have released the below CCTV image of the person they wish to speak to in connection with the incident.
Police Constable Paul Cleal, of north Dorset police, said: “We are carrying out a full investigation into this burglary and I would appeal to anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area, or who has any information to assist our enquiries, to please contact us.
“We have obtained a CCTV image of the suspect and I am releasing this as part of our enquiries. I appreciate his face cannot be seen and the image is not the best quality but someone may recognise the clothing he is wearing and it may help jog their memory if they have seen him in the area.”
Anyone with information can contact Dorset Police by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55210017214.
