SALISBURY Household Recycling Centre (HRC) will temporarily close for three days.

It is so essential resurfacing works can take place. It will be closed from Monday, February 22 to Wednesday, February 24.

As the HRC is usually closed on Thursday and Fridays, this means people will be able to book slots to visit up to Sunday, February, 21 and then once again on Saturday 27 February, when the site reopens to the public.

To ensure people in the area still have access to recycling facilities during this time, Amesbury HRC will be open on its usual closure days that week, Tuesday 23 and Wednesday 24 February, and its opening hours will be extended from 10am-4pm to 9am-5pm from Monday, February 22 to Friday, February 26.

Current COVID restrictions mean that the council has had to reduce visitor numbers at HRCs.

As spaces are limited, all visitors to HRCs must book in advance as this ensures that residents and staff safely socially distance.

Slots can be booked at wiltshire.gov.uk/household-recycling-centres-book.

Councillor Bridget Wayman, Cabinet Member for Waste, said: “We apologise for any inconvenience caused by this temporary closure at Salisbury HRC, but these are essential resurfacing works that cannot be delayed.

“We have arranged for extended opening times at Amesbury HRC during the works, so anyone that has to make an essential trip should be able to book a visit to this site during the Salisbury closure.

“I’d like to thank our residents for their patience during this short closure period, and we look forward to Salisbury HRC reopening soon for people to book visits.”
