POLICE are calling on the community to help them track down offenders using catapults and projectiles to damage vehicles and properties in Verwood.

A post on the East Dorset Police Facebook page said it had receive more reports in the last three to four days and also spoke of the impact these types of incidents have on the victims.

The post said: "Victims of these crimes are local persons and local businesses. They have to pay for the damage to be rectified themselves as the cost most of the time is below any insurance excess limit. Many victims are left feeling, angry, frustrated or even scared as a result of these incidents.

Someone in our communities will know who is responsible or have suspicions. PLEASE report this to us on 101 or www.dorsetpolice.uk/doitonline or anonymously via crime stoppers 0800 555 111

"Let's work together to prevent any more incidents and bring the offenders to justice."
