AN ONLINE quiz held throughout the pandemic has raised more than £4,500 for NHS Charities Together.

Anthony’s Quiz, which runs on Tuesday evenings and in the Horse and Groom Woodgreen, has raised the money for the NHS through subscriptions to the weekly quiz, sales of the quiz book ‘The Woodgreen Lockdown Quizzes’ and a donation from the landlord of the Horse and Groom.

The Woodgreen Lockdown Quizzes is a collection of over 30 pub quizzes from The Horse & Groom Woodgreen with all proceeds from the sales of the book going to NHS Charities.

The fundraising, which is still going on, has so far resulted in £1,500 each being sent to the NHS Heroes campaign for The Royal Bournemouth Hospital, The Stars Appeal at Salisbury Hospital and The Friends of Fordingbridge Surgery.

Anthony Swift, who created and runs the quiz, said he is “delighted with the progress”.

He added “I am delighted with progress so far, but really hope that with continuing sales of the quiz book (which is now available on Amazon Kindle also), we can push the total higher. I am incredibly grateful to my weekly quizzers (who donate £10 each team to join the quiz every week), and to Jason Schinkel at The Horse & Groom, as well as The Woodgreen Community Shop and Fordingbridge Bookshop who have helped me sell so many copies. I have added the Friends of Fordingbridge Surgery to the list of beneficiaries to recognise their incredible efforts on the vaccination programme.”

Anthony is asking for a suggested donation of £15 for a copy of the book plus £5 postage and packing.

The books are on sale at the Horse and Groom in Woodgreen, the Fordingbridge bookshop and the Woodgreen village shop, can be ordered by post from amgswift@gmail.com or are on Amazon at The Woodgreen Lockdown Quizzes eBook: Swift, Anthony: Amazon.co.uk: Kindle Store.

Anthony’s Quiz is still running online and will remain that way until the pubs reopen – it can be found at patreon.com/anthonysquiz
