WELL-KNOWN names from the television, literary and military world are joining Salisbury-based charity Alabaré and its supporters on Friday (March 5) for the Big Sleep at Home.

The event will see at least two hundred people give up the comfort of their own bed for one night to help raise vital funds to help those who have faced the crisis of losing their home.

Big Sleepers will be able to join a packed evening of music, interviews and activities online whilst supporting the cause.

They will be able to hear TV presenter and ex-SAS Major Ken Hames give a den building tutorial.

And ex-Blue Peter presenter and children’s author Konnie Huq will host a quiz for younger Big Sleepers, with participants in with a chance of winning some of her books.

They will also be able to listen to a bedtime story - “Elvis a Tale of Kindness and Hope” by Helen May Brian and read by actor Stephen Kynman, the voice of Fireman Sam.

Author Barney Norris will present a quiz for the older Big Sleepers. He will also be reading a good night story from one of his acclaimed novels.

The evening will be raising funds to help Alabaré provide vital support to those facing incredible difficulties during the pandemic and beyond.

During the evening Big Sleepers will also hear from those who have benefited from the vital support that Alabaré and their supporters make possible.
