THESE four lovely pooches at Dogs Trust Salisbury are looking for new homes.

Although, the charity's rehoming centre in Newton Tony is not open for public browsing it is still rehoming and taking in dogs, with new processes in place to keep staff, visitors and adopters safe.

1. Bobby

Bobby is a handsome, three-year-old terrier cross who is looking for active owners that can provide him with plenty of exercise and mental stimulation throughout the day.

It can take Bobby a little while to get to know new people. However, if you allow him to get to know you at his pace, he soon comes around.

He is very affectionate once he has got to know you, and loves nothing more than being in your company. He's a sensitive boy who can find the outside world a little overwhelming at times.

Bobby enjoys quiet walks in rural areas, away from other dogs and the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

2. Buddy

Buddy is a loving dog who is used to being in the company of his humans. He will initially need a home where someone can be around during the day, and any time alone would need to be built up gradually once he's had plenty of time to settle in.

This six-year-old English bulldog would need to be the only dog in an adult-only home but he would benefit significantly from calm, respectful walking buddies when he's out and about.

He enjoys learning new things and showing you how clever he is, especially for a tasty treat or three. He is looking for owners who would enjoy training him and helping him thrive.

3. Dash

Seven-year-old lurcher, Dash, is a super-sensitive, loveable pooch who is looking for a quiet, adult-only forever home he can call his own.

He can get a little worried by loud, unpredictable noises so will need a rural home with minimal visitors, away from the hustle and bustle of towns and cities.

Currently, Dash does not like to be on his own and will need a home where someone can be around throughout the day, where time alone can be built up very gradually.

Dash enjoys getting outside but he can find the world around him a little overwhelming at times and is looking for calm, patient owners who can allow him to adjust to his new environment at his own pace.

4. Gunner

Gunner is a fantastic six-year-old crossbreed who is looking for his special forever home.

He loves to play outside and will require a good-size, secure garden where he can explore and play safely off-lead.

Initially, Gunner will need a home where someone can be around throughout the day while he settles in. Once settled, any time alone would need to be built up gradually, closely monitoring how Gunner responds to this.

This big fella is strong on the lead and will need owners who can cope with this and help him in some loose-lead walking training.

Gunner loves to be outside and is always ready to go on the next big adventure.

Virtual matching

Claire Rowe, the rehoming centre manager , said: “For dogs we know will thrive straight away in their new home, we’re matching them with their new homes virtually and delivering them contact-free. Current restrictions mean we can only facilitate adoptions local to our centres or anywhere there are travel restrictions. We’re able to make appointments for some dogs on-site at the rehoming centre to meet their family before going home, but this is on a case by case basis.

“Even if potential owners do live slightly further afield, we are more than happy to take interest from them if looking to adopt. Should we be able to match them with their perfect canine companion and it takes a little longer, our dogs are more than willing to be patient if they know their special someone is waiting for them.”
