The vaccination programme in Fordingbridge is ahead of the national schedule with more than 94 per cent of over 65s having now received the Covid vaccine.

Avon Valley Primary Care Network, which is made up of Fordingbridge Surgery, Ringwood Medical Centre, Cornerways Medical Centre in Ringwood and Twin Oaks Surgery in Bransgore, is rolling out the vaccine at the Fordingbridge Hospital site.

The Fordingbridge Surgery Facebook page said: “Avon Valley Primary Care Network Coronavirus Vaccine Programme is continuing to make amazing progress, vaccinating all over 50s and at risk patients from the four GP practices in Ringwood and Fordingbridge at the Fordingbridge Hospital.

“We’ve had fantastic uptake in the over 65s with over 94 per cent of the population vaccinated and we are ahead of national schedule.”

More than £9,000 has been donated to support the Friends of Fordingbridge Surgery.

The post added: “Thank you to all our donators, patients, volunteers and staff for helping us deliver this fantastic vaccination programme.
