A MAN injured after a crash near Alderholt is no longer in a life-threatening condition, police have confirmed.

Dorset Police was called at around 8.30pm on Monday, March 29 to a report of a collision involving a silver Renault Clio and a cyclist on the B3081 near to the turning to Alderholt.

The cyclist – a man in his 50s and from Ringwood – was taken to Southampton General Hospital in a life-threatening condition.

The driver of the Renault – a Hampshire man in his 30s - was arrested at the scene on suspicion of driving offences.

A police spokesperson said: "We can confirm that the arrested man has been released under investigation and the condition of the injured man is no longer considered to be life-threatening but they remain in hospital in a serious condition."
