Up until a few days ago, Salisbury was basking in sunshine and warm weather, making small outdoor meet-ups with friends and family even more enjoyable.

But just as forecasters warned, it was a cold start for most on Easter Monday as temperatures plummeted all across the UK.

Last week's record heat has given way to sleet and snow, with a few flurries also falling in parts of the South on Monday and Tuesday.

Although since then temperatures have gone up slightly, they remain much cooler than we would expect this time of year.

With beer gardens reopening on Monday, the question on everyone's mind is: how long will this cold spell last?

According to forecasters at weather.com, temperatures in Salisbury will get slightly warmer on Thursday and Friday, but will remain below average.

We'll see highs of 11 to 12 degrees.

On Saturday and Sunday, it will feel cooler again with highs of just 8 and 9 degrees while on Monday April 12, when hospitality venues reopen outdoors, it will be mostly sunny with temperatures reaching 10 degrees.

The rest of next week looks rather bleak with 45 to 60 per cent chance of rain forecast every single day until Wednesday April 21.

Temperatures will rise sightly, fluctuating between 13 and 14 degrees.

It will only begin to feel a little warmer towards the end of the month when temperatures are expected to hit 16 degrees.
