Covid-19 has forced many of us to take shelter, even when we are worried about family and friends.

But in a crisis like nothing we have experienced before, we all know people who - even if it's not their day job - have stepped up to help others.

Often it's the little acts of kindness, by everyday heroes like Captain Sir Tom Moore, that have kept the vulnerable and those in need going during the pandemic.

Most media attention tends to fall on the doctors and NHS heroes - and it is absolutely right the the spotlight highlights their good deeds.

But if you haven't heard yet, there's also a way to make sure the person you think is a local hero gets some recognition, too - no matter how small the good deed.

They are doing a job that no one else would want to do.

You are the mother, father, sister, brother, daughter, son, or partner of that person who completes your life.

4 - That person who always steps up

They step forward to volunteer when everyone else steps back.

5 - Thank the fundraising star

They raised money for a cause that’s dear to your heart.

6 - They are essential to you
