A WOMAN has been airlifted to hospital after a serious crash on the A303.
The road is closed in both directions between the junctions at Deptford (A36) and Willoughby Hedge (A350) after a crash between three cars and a lorry.
South Western Ambulance Service were called at 12.18pm to a multi-vehicle crash near Chicklade.
Wiltshire Police has now confirmed a man has died following the incident.

Emergency services are currently in attendance and have closed the road in both directions between the junctions at Deptford (A36) and Willoughby Hedge (A350). (1/2) pic.twitter.com/NYRfYj67iT
A statement from the service said: "We sent numerous resources to the scene, where we were supported by police and fire service personnel.
"We treated two patients, and conveyed one of them - a female - to hospital by air ambulance."
Wiltshire Police say it is expecting the road to remain closed for "some time", and is urging motorists to find alternative routes.
Highways England has added that road users are being diverted via the A36, A350 and B3081 in both directions.
