FEATHERS are flying over plans for a chicken shed and other buildings on land behind a house in the New Forest.

The Lymington-based National Park Authority (NPA) has received an application relating to a site at Main Road, East Boldre.

East Boldre Parish Council is urging the NPA to reject the proposal, which includes a barn and stables.

It says: "The proposed materials are unsympathetic to the local environment. The scale of the barn is disproportionate to the size of the plot.

"The proposed building is too close to the plot boundary and is over 2.5m high."

But a report to NPA members says the site is near other properties that have stables and barns."
