A SALISBURY Reds bus has been attacked for the second time in a week, with windows being smashed by thrown objects once more.

It comes after councillor for Bemerton, Caroline Corbin said the culprits responsible for Monday's attack should be aware their "reckless and dangerous" actions could have posed a "potential danger to life".

At around 7pm on Tuesday, a tweet from the bus service said the R1 - which goes from Salisbury District Hospital to Bemerton Heath via Salisbury city centre - had been targeted in the Saint Michaels Road area, with "windows being smashed by objects thrown at the vehicle".

Just after 3pm today, the service tweeted again to say that "the R1 service has been targeted again in the Saint Michaels Road area with windows being smashed by objects thrown at the vehicle".

Only this morning Salisbury Reds confirmed to the Journal that they resumed the normal route yesterday morning and that there had been no further issues so far.

As a result of this latest attack, the route has been diverted again.

Towards the city, the bus will go up Westwood Road, straight down Pembroke Road, onto Roman Road, then onto Devizes Road to pick up the normal route, missing Gainsborough Close, Festival Avenue, Herbert Road and Coronation Road.

Towards Bemerton Heath the bus will go straight down Roman Road, onto Pembroke Road, up Festival Avenue, Gainsborough Close, then pick up the normal route at The Valley, missing Coronation Road and Tournament Road.
