POLICE broke up four public gatherings breaching Covid regulations.

Officers carried out an operation in the city centre yesterday to stop antisocial behaviour and disorder.

The operation was led by the local neighbourhood policing team and included foot patrols of the city centre and local parks as well as the underpasses to stop graffiti and criminal damage.

A post on the Salisbury Police Facebook page said officers dispersed four public gatherings breaching Covid regulations.

They also located and arrested a wanted male.

During the operation officers also removed alcohol from street drinkers breaching the Public Space Protection Order, spoke with licenced premises regarding Covid legislation and ensured that closure orders at residential premises were being adhered to.

A vehicle was also seized for having no tax or MOT.
