A CAR got stuck on top of a central reservation barrier after a crash on the busy A31.

Long tailbacks were reported following the collision near St Leonards Hospital yesterday afternoon.

Police, fire and ambulance crews were called to the scene just before 4pm.

Two fire crews from Ferndown and Ringwood attended.

A spokeswoman for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue said no one was trapped but there were "walking wounded" at the scene.

The casualties were left in the hands of police and ambulance crews and the vehicles were recovered.
