A LORRY crashed into a telecommunications junction box near Sixpenny Handley.

Police were called at 1.21pm on Monday (April 19) to reports of a single vehicle crash on the A354.

A Dorset Police spokesperson said: "We received a report at 12.21pm on Monday April 19 of a single vehicle collision on the A354 near Sixpenny Handley.

"It was reported that a lorry had left the carriageway and had collided with a telecommunications junction box.

"There were no reports of any injuries.

"Officers attended the scene to assist with traffic control and the telecommunications company was contacted in relation to the damaged structure."

Officers left the scene at around 1.40pm on the same day.

A fire crew from Cranborne also attended and assisted police to make the scene safe.

A spokesperson for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "A crew from Cranborne attended the incident but were only required for scene safety and assisting the Police with traffic management – our stop came at 12:51pm."
