A WOMAN was reportedly punched in the face twice after a man demanded thousands of pounds from her.

The assault took place in the Fargo Road and Lawson Road area, Larkhill, between 7.15pm and 7.30pm last night, April 24, when £3,000 was wanted from the victim.

After the punches, which gave the woman minor injuries, the suspect fled the scene.

It is believed he drove away in a red Mercedes.

The male suspect is described as being an Asian man in his 30’s, around six foot tall, of slim build and was wearing a blue puffer jacket and black jeans.

He is also described as having a trimmed beard and short black hair.

Police officers are now urging witnesses and drivers with relevant dash cam footage to come forward.

A spokesperson said: "We understand that there were some vehicles in the area at the time whose drivers may have witnessed the incident or have dash cam footage of the suspect we’d like to speak to.

"If you also have any CCTV footage in the area along Fargo Road / Lawson Road or have any information that could assist officers with their enquiries, please contact us on 101 quoting crime reference number 54210038554."
