EMERGENCY services were called to the A303 at Stockton after a vehicle left the road.

Police were alerted of the incident, which involved a blue Mercedes, at 5pm yesterday (Wednesday, April 28).

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: "We were called at 5pm to reports of a single-vehicle road traffic collision on the A303 at Stockton, Wyle where the vehicle, a blue Mercedes, had left the road.

"We attended along with the ambulance and fire service but no injuries were reported."

A fire crew from Wilton and on-call firefighters from Salisbury were in attendance.

A spokesperson for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "DW Fire Control were requested by police for an RTC with persons believed to be trapped on the A303 at Stockton Wood. Crews from Wilton and Salisbury On Call personnel were mobilised.

"On arrival crews found the vehicle that had left the road with no persons trapped. Fire crews left the incident with the police."
