A PATIENT who tested positive for Covid-19 has passed away at Salisbury District Hospital.
This brings the total number of Covid-related deaths at the hospital to 213 since the pandemic began.
The patient, who was in his 80s, died on Sunday (May 2) and had underlying health conditions.
A statement from the hospital said: "Sadly, we can confirm that a further patient who had tested positive for Covid-19 and had been cared for at Salisbury District Hospital has died. 213 patients in total have now passed away.
"The patient who died on Sunday 2nd May was in his 80s and had underlying health conditions.
"Our thoughts and condolences are with the patient’s family and loved ones at this very difficult and distressing time.
"We currently have 5 in-patients who have tested positive for Covid-19 being cared for at the hospital."
