TRADERS in Devizes are gearing up for a special day on June 5 when they will be showcasing their wares.
Indie Day has been organised by Indies in Devizes which sprung up after coronavirus restrictions were lifted last June in a bid to get people to shop local.
Website creator Ida McConnell and shop owner Justina Pettifer got together to create a platform for independent traders to help each other to thrive post lockdown.
Now the group has organised its second Indie Day with the backing of Devizes Town Council to get over the message that Devizes is open for business and has plenty to offer.
"We have in Albion court – an area for ‘Youth Traders’ whereby we encourage the under 25 to come forward and try out having a stall for the day for free," said Justina.
"There will be a trail around the parts of town and retailers are donating to prizes and hampers. Last time was a great success and a real boost to the economy and town as a whole."
