A REPAIR of the Recreation Ground car park costing more than £4,000 is to be carried out.
The work is to repair and improve the surface at the Recreation Ground car park.
Three quotes were received for the work which totalled £3,542 plus VAT, £4,998 excluding VAT and £6,575 excluding VAT.
The lower quote, the meeting heard, was for filling the potholes and rolling it whereas the work carried out in relation to the two other quotes was “more involved” and would also see the grading of the car park.
Councillor Edward Hale agreed with the recommendation and felt the work that would be carried out as part of the cheapest of the quotes “wouldn’t last very long”, which was echoed by Councillor Diane Paton.
The quote was agreed by both the amenities and finance and policy committees last month.
