We're asking our readers to submit pictures of their treasured pets and tell us why they deserve showing off, and, after a vote, their pooch, moggy or feathered friend could be crowned Salisbury's finest.

With just over a week until the closing date for entries, have a look through the gallery above at just some of the animals that have already been entered.

As well as giving your furry friends a special shout out, those who enter will be in with a chance of winning a £50 voucher.

All images will be printed in the Journal on Thursday, June 10, and readers will be invited to vote for their favourite.

The winner will be treated to a £50 voucher prize and be named Salisbury Journal's Pet Idol 2021.
