SEVEN nights of closures are coming into force this week on the A338 Salisbury Road at Ringwood.

Work to resurface the carriage way starts tonight (Monday, May 24) from the roundabout under the A31 to a point just south of Snails Lane.

It is expected to last for seven nights and will see the road closed between 8pm and 6am each day.

The work is being carried out by Hampshire County Council as part of its Operation Resilience maintenance programme to make the county's roads "more resilient to the effects of extreme weather and heavy traffic".

Work will not take place over the Bank Holiday weekend.
