A VERWOOD man has been fined more than £400 for failing to stop after a crash.

James Andrew John Boobier, of Burley Close, admitted being the driver of a Vauxhall Vivaro van on Manor Road on December 8, 2020 which failed to stop after a road accident.

Court documents state that "an accident occurred whereby personal injury was caused" to two named individuals and damage was also caused to a Mercedes Vito van and a Nissan Nivaro.

A charge of failing to report a road accident was withdrawn.

The 43-year-old was sentenced on May 11 at Weymouth Magistrates' Court.

As well as receiving a £461 fine the defendant was ordered to pay a £46 victim surcharge and costs of £110.

His driving record was endorsed with seven points.
