COULD these dogs be the "paw-fect" companion for you?

Although Dogs Trust Salisbury isn’t open for public browsing, it is still rehoming and taking in dogs, with new processes in place to keep staff, visitors and adopters safe.

These four dogs are looking for their own forever homes.

1 & 2. Mitzi and Mirena

Mitzi, is a nine-year-old boxer, and is looking for a home with her best friend Mirena, a six-year old Staffordshire bull terrier cross.

Mitzi is very friendly and affectionate and enjoys nothing more than getting a fuss from her humans.

Salisbury Journal:

Mirena is playful and is happy when she has a tennis ball.

But they are both at their happiest when they are with each other so they need to be rehomed together.

Salisbury Journal:

The pair love to get out and about. Although they need to be the only dogs in the home, they are happy to have calm walking friends out on walks.

They can live with children aged 12 and over who are happy to give them space when required.

Once settled into the home, they can be left for short periods of time.

Mitzi would like to live in a property without too many stairs as she has some medical needs which aren’t affecting her lifestyle at the moment but adopters need to be aware she may need medication and attention in the future.

3. Bruce

Bruce is an 11-month-old Shar Pei who was diagnosed with a heart condition at four-months-old.

He has been living with a foster family for the last six months, but is now ready to find his forever home.

Bruce loves his daily walks and meeting other dogs but will need to be the only dog in the home.

Salisbury Journal:

He loves to snuggle up so his new adopters should be happy to share their sofa with him.

Due to his heart condition Bruce may require lifelong medication and will need to make regular trips to the vets for checks, so his new family need to be prepared for this.

He is looking for an adult-only home with no visiting children.

4. Beau

Beau is a sensitive 10-year-old bulldog cross looking for a patient family who can help him with his worries.

He is looking for an adult-only pet-free home with his own secure garden where he can enjoy off-lead play time.

Dogs in need of loving families

Claire Rowe, the rehoming centre manager at Dogs Trust Salisbury, said: “Four adorable dogs looking for their forever homes this month are Mitzi, Mirena, Bruce and Beau.

"They’re all very different but the one thing they have in common is the desire to find a loving family and a sofa to call their own."
