A DODGEBALL club is coming to Salisbury, in a bid to get children moving while starting up a new sport.

Committed to increasing the sporting opportunities for children in Salisbury, and following the success of the Harnham Crocodiles Cricket project, Salisbury City Council's activity leaders will be offering the new venture.

Supported by District Sports, the new club will run an initial six-week programme at Sarum Academy, and children in school Years 4-6 are welcome to take part.

The council said: "Dodgeball is a great activity for children and can improve agility, reactions and all-round fitness. Most of all it's great fun, easy to learn and anyone can play."

The sessions will run from 6pm until 7pm on Tuesdays, from June 15 until July 20.

Salisbury City Council is subsidising places for this initial six-week block, so the sessions will at a reduced price of £4 per session or £20 for 6.

Spaces are limited, but the council hopes there is enough interest to run more sessions for more children in the next school year.

Parents with questions about cost support and accessibility for children with additional needs can get in touch with the team by emailing bhc@salisburycitycouncil.gov.uk
