A POLICE officer was assaulted after two teenagers were seen acting suspiciously in Fordingbridge.

While on patrol, officers located two teenage boys on Friday (May 28) at around 5.40pm in the area of Fordingbridge Recreation Ground.

Hampshire Constabulary say the officers detained the pair and located a quantity of Class B drugs and "during the arrests phase, an officer was assaulted resulting in minor injuries". 

A 17-year-old boy from Fordingbridge was arrested on suspicion of assaulting a police officer and possession of a Class B drug.

He was issued with a community resolution order for the drug offence but released under investigation for the assault offence.

While another 17-year-old boy from Fordingbridge was arrested on suspicion of obstructing a police officer in executing their duty, possession of a Class B drug, using threatening or abusive words likely to cause harassment/ harm or distress and sending a letter or communication conveying a threatening message.

He was released under investigation.
