Firefighters were called out to Alderbury last night (Thursday June 3) after a shed fire spread to a house.

Crews were at the scene in Silver Street for two and a half hours.

They were called out at 8.50pm after flames spread from a shed to the roof void of a nearby property.

At the height of the incident, 14 breathing apparatus wearers were attempting to remove the roof tiles to get the fire under control using hose reel jets.

Crews from Salisbury, Amesbury, Fordingbridge, Stockbridge, Romsey, Cranborne and Ludgershall and a Support Unit from Hamworthy responded to the call-out.

They were at the scene until 11.20pm.

Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service says a reinspection of the site was carried out this morning (June 4) and no hotspots were found.
