The blaze broke out around 8.50pm on Thursday June 3 in Alderbury.

Fire crews were at the scene for two and a half hours trying to contain the flames in the roof void of a house.

At the height of the incident, 14 breathing apparatus wearers were attempting to remove the roof tiles to get the fire under control using hose reel jets.

Crews from Salisbury, Amesbury, Fordingbridge, Stockbridge, Romsey, Cranborne and Ludgershall and a Support Unit from Hamworthy responded to the call-out.

They were at the scene until 11.20pm.

Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service says a reinspection of the site was carried out on Friday morning (June 4) and no hotspots were found.
