THE Michael Herbert Hall Covid vaccination clinic in Wilton has officially closed.

It comes after 27,075 patients were vaccinated at the site since it opened in January.

The change follows a review of all the vaccination hubs currently up and running in the Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire CCG area.

The idea behind the move is that as the vaccination programme reaches younger age groups, pharmacies will take a more prominent role.

The decision will also allow GPs and their staff to revert their focus back on their patients and surgeries.

'Very proud'

Christine Ballard, part of the team there, said she was "very proud to have been part of that amazing team".

In a Facebook post, she said: "Each and every member of the team worked very hard but, be it a volunteer or clinical staff, they always greeted the patients with a smile."
