TEMPORARY traffic lights have caused traffic chaos in and around Salisbury this morning.

In Wilton, temporary traffic lights are causing long delays near the garden centre.

AA road map says there are long delays and queueing traffic on A36 King Street both ways around A30 Minster Street (St Peter Fugglestone Roundabout).

Road users on Facebook said it was "hell", and "absolute carnage", with one woman saying she was sat stationary on Wilton Road for 20 minutes with the engine off.

There are also long queues / delays up The Avenue due to temporary traffic signals due to electricity work near A360, and along the A36 as far as South Newton.

Salisbury Journal:

There is also "bumper to bumper" traffic on the A345 near High Post - Amesbury to Low Flying Corner and High Post to Low Flying Corner because of temporary traffic lights.

These are in place to allow BT Openreach to carry out works.
