These are six cases recently heard by magistrates.

ANDREW ALAN SPRULES, aged 33, of a mobile home park in Shrewton, pleaded guilty to possessing a folding pocket knife while in The Dolphin Inn in Devizes on September 10, 2019. Sprules admitted breaching a suspended sentence order made by Wiltshire Magistrates’ on July 16, 2019, after driving with a controlled drug above the legal limit. The defendant was fined a total of £2,171 and was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £125 and costs of £250. Sprules must attend activities and appointments as instructed by an officer.

SYBIL ROSEANNE DORMER, aged 64, of Bouverie Avenue, Salisbury, pleaded guilty to driving while exceeding the legal alcohol limit. On September 2 last year she was driving a Mini Cooper along Exeter Street in Salisbury, with 233 milligrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood. She was fined £361 and was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £36 and costs of £85. The defendant was also disqualified from holding a driving licence for 24 months.

ELIZABETH ROSE SCUTT, aged 43, of Batchelor Way, Downton, pleaded guilty to damaging another vehicle. The accidental damage took place on July 14 last year, when Scutt was driving a Ford Fusion along Batchelor Way. The damage to the Seat Ibiza was not reported as practically reasonable to do so or within 24 hours. Scutt was fined £120 and was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £34 and costs of £85. She was disqualified from holding a driving licence for six months.

RICKY STUART BOUGHEY, aged 32, of Pinewood Way, Bemerton Heath in Salisbury, indicated a plea of guilty to intentionally damaging a police vehicle, belonging to Wiltshire Police, in Salisbury on December 22 last year. Boughey was fined £120 and was ordered to pay compensation of £80, a victim surcharge of £34 and costs of £85.

KEVIN ALAN CLEVERLEY, aged 51, of Angel Yard, Marlborough, indicated a plea of guilty to stealing spirits from Sainsbury’s in Trowbridge on August 30 and Tesco in Tidworth on September 8, both last year. In total Cleverley had stolen £458 worth of alcohol. He was committed to prison for 20 weeks suspended for 12 months, and was ordered to pay compensation of £750.

ANDREW DRAKE, aged 36, of Devizes Road, Upavon, pleaded guilty to driving while exceeding the legal alcohol limit. On December 18 last year he was driving a Volkswagen Scirocco along the A360 Longbarrow Roundabout in Salisbury, with 122 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. Drake was ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £95 and costs of £85. The defendant was also disqualified from holding a driving licence for 29 months and must complete 240 hours of unpaid work.
